ELT RESEARCH IN ACTION:

CRITICAL CONVERSATIONS: ALIGNING RESEARCH AND PRACTICE IN ELT

generic

This two-day event was conceived to reduce the divide between research into the teaching and learning of English and everyday classroom practice by bringing together curious teachers, researchers and practitioner-researchers to promote a spirit of enquiry and mutually beneficial collaboration. We hope to achieve a common aim: demystifying research and encouraging teachers to read, engage with, and participate in relevant studies with clear practical grounding in order to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

To this end, the conference offers opportunities to share research findings of interest to practising teachers, both through interactive workshops and talks which summarise research in an accessible format. ELTRIA presentations encourage reflection and provoke thought, and the social format of the conference allows attendees to connect and develop the ‘critical conversations’ which bring the research and practice communities together.

The ELTRIA conference is organised by the EIM: Escola d’Idiomes Moderns (School of Modern Languages) of the University of Barcelona and will take place on 10-11th May, 2024.

This event is an ideal opportunity to experience the beautiful city of Barcelona in the spring. It also combines conveniently with the PLL5 (International Association of Psychology in Language Learning) conference taking place in Madrid the following week (16-18th May, 2024)
