BASIC OBJECTIVES

Reading very short, simple texts. Finding specific, predictable information in simple everyday material such as advertisements, prospectuses, menus and timetables and understanding short simple personal letters.

Understanding phrases and the highest frequency vocabulary related to areas of most immediate personal relevance (e.g. very basic personal and familiar information, shopping, local geography, and employment). Catching the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements.

Writing short simple notes and messages relating to matters in areas of immediate need; writing a very simple letter, e.g. thanking someone for something; writing a short story or discursive essay.

Using a series of phrases and sentences to describe in simple terms your family and other people, living conditions, your educational background and your present or most recent job. Communicating orally in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar topics and activities. Handling very short social exchanges.

EVALUATION

PASS MARK
In order to pass the course, it is necessary to achieve a minimum mark of 50% in the written and oral examinations and 60% in the overall combination of examination and continuous assessment.
